3.21 :: Character auction at MaryD’s for Playing With Fuego

I’m well into my next book, Playing With Fuego. It’s the story of Daphne Maddox, a New Englander who feels like a fish out of water in Miami, where she’s stuck with an underwater mortgage. The glitzy Mari Tirado, a first generation Cuban-American, personifies all the things that irk Daphne about the Magic City. Mari drives like a maniac, shows up late for everything and speaks Spanish with all her friends. She’s stuck too, having been ordered by the court to perform community service for the non-profit home builder where Daphne works.

How would you like to fall into the Miami mix? MaryD (aka the Maven of the Xenaverse) is hosting an online auction to raise money for Starship Children’s Hospital, which happens to be the favorite charity of Lucy Lawless, who played Xena: Warrior Princess. I’ve done this a couple of times before. If you read Sea Legs, you may recall Jodi Atkinson, who went along with the gang from Rochester on a Caribbean cruise. Or Sylvie St. Laurent, who found herself delivering Anna & Lily’s twins in Mother Load. If you’re the high bidder for Playing With Fuego, I promise to find something fun for you! Here’s the link to the Character Auction, and you can follow that to the Home Page for more good stuff.

Every penny goes to Starship. Thanks, as always, for sharing the love.
