The 2016 Golden Crown Literary Selebration

IMG_0916GCLS is no longer creeping up on us. It’s bearing down like a freight train, like an F5 tornado, like a roomful of lesbians on a box of Tim Tams. I know this because my suitcase is down from the attic and I’m starting to pay attention to what I can’t wear this week because I’m saving it for DC. Because my panel assignments are stacking up in the printer. And because Rozzie has that freakish look about the mommies leaving her again.

We’re heading out a few days early to hang out in Williamsburg. Fingers crossed for clear weather on the Fourth of July, as we hope to see the fireworks show in Yorktown.

Here’s my schedule for GCLS (so I can check this when I’m wandering around lost):

Wednesday 2:00 – 3:00: Moderating a panel called Sidekicks: All Across the Rainbow

Thursday 8:30 – 9:20: Sitting on Cindy Rizzo’s panel called Love Laced With Danger: The Allure of Romantic Intrigue

Friday 9:30 – 10:20: Sitting on Georgia Beers’s panel called Tension, Friction & Chemistry

Saturday 9:40 – 10:30 (tentative): Author Spotlight, where I’ll be reading from Trial by Fury

Saturday 1:00 – 1:50: Moderating a panel called I Wish I’d Written That!

Saturday 3:00: Presenters Walk-Thru (I always forget this :-/)

Those are on the schedule for now. I’ve also offered up my two-step for those willing to bid on the first dance after the Goldie Awards, and my charming table manners for those bidding on lunch with the authors. I’ll be at the autograph session, but will gladly sign books whenever you catch me. And I’m happy — really, really happy — just to chat and hug and laugh with anyone who can bear it.

See you soon in DC!

  1. Unfortunately, DC is not in the budget this year! That said, I’ll happily keep submitting book reviews on Amazon! I hope all of your panels go perfectly!

  2. Ahh, I wish I could be packing my suitcase, too. Or better even, snap my fingers and be there.
Good luck to you for the Awards and congratulations from the heart to Katherine Forrest.
    Have a great time!

P.S. Luti says you forgot the shopping lists, folded bills and subway tickets.
“Sorry, were you looking for this?” 🙂

  3. Lee is all packed, I am starting, we too are traveling early – arriving at the con hotel on the 2nd and doing local sightseeing – and our Bolo the Magnificent is finding the best place to be is on top of Lee’s suitcase in hopes of preventing her traveling (always the hardest part of leaving home for us).

  4. Aww, Rozzie says “Mommies don’t go.” Such a sweet little kitty face.
