I received my author’s allotment of T-Minus Two late yesterday, and got all my early copies ready to go. Rozzie conducted her postal inspections this morning … ergo, several of the packages are now reinforced with tape so the teeth marks don’t snag. 😉
A huge THANK YOU to all who answered my call to support Lambda Literary. Our programs are there to nurture, celebrate and preserve LGBTQ literature, and we’re embarking on a quest for an even wider reach. As we commend the emergence of our stories in mainstream books, film and TV, we mustn’t forget that we in the LGBTQ community are the ones who bring authenticity to such efforts. We live these stories, and we share a history with LGBTQ people in hidden communities throughout the world. Lambda Literary preserves not only the literature, but the culture.
If you’re interested in getting an early, signed copy, please check out my previous blog There’s still time to grab one, but you must get your order in by May 6th.
On the book front, I’m wrapping up my next one, The Touch of a Woman, coming this fall from Bella Books. If any of my bosses are reading this, the first draft should be in your hands shortly.
One of the biggest challenges I face in finishing a book is keeping at bay all those creeping thoughts about the next one. That’s happening again.
In personal news, I had one more back surgery about three weeks ago. It should be the last one until science comes up with something even more magical than constant electrical pulses that trick the body into thinking it doesn’t hurt.
